Summer in Salt Lake

One of my favorite things that goes on this time of the year is the Utah Arts Festival.  It's a 4 day festival held in downtown Salt Lake City that attracts acts and artists from all over the world.

These aerial artists were amazing.

They're hanging off the side of the library, dancing!

Another thing I love this time of year is our neighborhood park.

That's Roman flying through the air.  You couldn't get me on that thing in a million years, but the boys love it.

Happy summer!

  1. How fun! I am planning a short vacation to Salt Lake in August for a wedding. What are a few things I can't miss?

    1. Julia, where do I start? Well lovely places for stolls include Liberty Park and Tracy Aviary (in Liberty Park); Memory Grove (park a short distance from downtown; Red Butte Gardens. Some easy hiking options include the shoreline trail (start anywhere on it, the views of the valley are amazing!) and Ensign Peak (behind the Capital). Breakfast at Eggs in the City (local favourite). Grab a coffee and browse the magazines/books at the Library. Visit the second hand stores on third south near 2nd east. Visit the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings at Pioneer Park, afterwards do some shopping at the nearby Gateway Mall. Enjoy a cheap ($5) outdoor concert called the Twilight Concert series at Pioneer Park (Wednesdays or Thursdays throughout August). So much to do! Hope you enjoy your visit.
