Hope you enjoyed the tour.  The place isn't 100 % finished.  We still need to do some painting and replacing of switchplates etc, but it's pretty much done.  To see more shorts of before & during go here and here.

  2. Oh my gosh! Your before and afters are so inspiring and gorgeous! How are the wood vanities are holding up in your bathrooms?? I've been wanting to do that for a while, but haven't taken the plunge yet! So glad I found your blog! Thanks, Pinterest :)

  3. Victoriavm, thanks so much for the wonderful comment. The vanity that has the round vessel sink doesn't get much use, but it's the same wood as the kitchen counter which has had loads of dishes draining on it. It's American Walnut. I bought it unfinished and put 7 coats of tung oil on it 6 years ago and haven't had to reapply it yet. The water just beads off.

The dresser is OK. It already had sort of a finish on it which I sanded lightly and then put some marine varnish on. Unfortunately the wood isn't very good, I believe the dresser is a Pottery Barn dresser that has a strange kind of veneer wood. It's starting to show some wear. I think I might actually paint it a light grey and then put a couple of coats of good varnish on top. It should help also to lighten the bathroom which doesn't have any windows.
